thinkbridge Glossary.
- Agentic engineering
- Building software with AI agents that generate, test and change much of the application under the direction of engineers. thinkbridge's agentic engineering and delivery platform generates the application, APIs, data models, workflows and interface from a model of how the business runs.
- AI-native business system
- A custom system built around how a company actually operates, with AI inside the workflows it runs. It replaces packaged software, spreadsheets and manual work, and the company owns it outright.
- Business operating system
- One custom-fit system that runs the whole operation, from orders and scheduling to finance and reporting, with a screen for each role.
- Carve-out and TSA exit
- When a business is sold off from a parent company, it usually keeps running on the parent's systems under a transition services agreement (TSA) with monthly fees and an end date. A TSA exit means standing up the new company's own systems before that date.
- Context layer
- The rules, decisions, exceptions and history that explain how a business actually runs. When a company owns its system and its data, it also owns this context, and its AI can use it without a vendor in between.
- COTS (commercial off-the-shelf software)
- Packaged software bought or licensed from a vendor and configured to fit, such as a standard ERP or CRM.
- Forward-deployed experts
- thinkbridge engineers and consultants who work alongside a client's team, observe how the business runs, and stay with the system after it goes live.
- Legacy modernization
- Rebuilding an old business system on modern infrastructure by capturing the business logic it holds first, then running the new version alongside the old one until cutover.
- Managed care
- thinkbridge running and improving a
system after go-live, for the full term, so the client never inherits a maintenance burden.think One - Outcome-based pricing
- Pricing an engagement against a defined result, agreed in writing before the build starts. Payments follow the value the system delivers over an agreed term, and the client owns the system at the end.
- SaaS sprawl
- A growing stack of rented software tools, each covering one team's work, with the data split between them and a renewal for each.
- Self-healing software
- Software that improves from feedback raised inside the app. Low-impact changes are regenerated automatically and shipped to a beta the client approves. Higher-impact changes are reviewed before they are built.
- Software-defined business
- A business whose operating logic lives in a system it owns, instead of in people's heads, spreadsheets and rented software.
think One- thinkbridge's proprietary method for building business systems. It pairs forward-deployed experts with an agentic engineering and delivery platform, and runs in six steps: observe, model, generate, validate, deploy and operate. Every thinkbridge system is built with it.
- Unification layer
- A layer that connects existing ERP, CRM, billing and operational systems into one live view of the business, without replacing the systems that work.
There's a new way there™.
